FIXING A WAR follows Ukrainian fixers — the often invisible interpreters, guides, drivers, negotiators and producers who make international war reporting possible. Through their work, the film explores the media dimension of Russia’s war against Ukraine, where “facts” and “truth” are constantly contested. For fixers, the war is not a story to cover, but a personal and ongoing catastrophe. Their perspective reveals the tension between insiders and outsiders, between those who live the war and those who come to report on it. Immersive, chaotic, dangerous and at times unexpectedly poignant, the film asks what human cost lies behind every news story from the front.
